KION Group Supervisory Board extends contract of CFO Harald Pinger

Wiesbaden, 07 September 2011 - The Supervisory Board of the KION Group GmbH has decided to extend the contract of Harald Pinger as a member of the Executive Board for a further four years. This means that Pinger (51) will remain CFO of the KION Group until 31 July 2016.

Commenting on the decision, Johannes Huth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the KION Group, said: 'Over the past three years, which have been dominated by the most severe crisis in the history of the industrial trucks industry, Harald Pinger has led the company's finance function with great success. The members of the Supervisory Board are delighted that he will continue to provide stability and continuity at the head of the company's finance function.'

Gordon Riske, Chief Executive Officer of the KION Group added: 'Harald Pinger has played an extremely important role in securing the sustained confidence of the capital markets in the strength and the long-term prospects of the KION Group. April 2011 saw our first successful step into the capital markets with the issue of a corporate bond. I look forward to continue working with Harald Pinger.'

Harald Pinger
Harald Pinger was appointed to the Executive Board of the KION Group in the role of CFO on 1 August 2008. Before joining the KION Group, Harald Pinger was CEO and President of the Executive Committee of Jelmoli Holding AG in Zurich, a leading Swiss retail and real-estate group. From 2004 until 2006 he was CFO of the department store and mail-order group Karstadt Quelle AG, where he also assumed operational responsibility for the mail-order business at times. Between 2002 and 2004 he was the finance director and joint managing director of the Messer group. From 1996 until 2002 he worked for Fresenius Medical Care and from 1987 until 1995 for Unilever in a variety of senior international management positions. Harald Pinger studied business administration, majoring in tax law and auditing, at Cologne University.
