Director IFRS Competence (w/m/d)

We are looking to fill the following vacancy in our IFRS Competence & Statutory Accounts department at our headquarters in Frankfurt am Main:

Director IFRS Competence (w/m/d)

Your Responsibilities:

  • As the Director of IFRS Competence, you will lead a disciplinary team of experts to which you will bring your extensive project management experience as well as leadership and communication skills
  • You will be responsible for the accounting guidelines across the Group and oversee compliance with international accounting standards for the entire Group
  • You will serve as an adviser and a principle contact for the Group’s central functions and affiliates when it comes to complex questions pertinent to accounting
  • You will be responsible for implementing special (accounting) projects and will play a decisive role in strategic Group projects that will influence Group reporting
  • You will be responsible for the creation and continued development of external finance reporting and you will be a principal contact for the auditor regarding project- and report-related issues
  • You will present independent decision and information materials to relevant Group bodies as well as to key stakeholders and will implement Group-wide training measures

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • You have successfully completed a degree in economics or business management, preferably with a focus on international accounting or an equivalent qualification
  • You will have ideally expanded your expertise through additional qualifications (e.g. tax accountancy, auditing, doctorate)
  • You have gained the relevant and extensive professional experience within an accounting department of an internationally active industrial company or in a consultancy or auditing department of any capital market orientated company
  • You have substantial experience in stakeholder management at all levels as well as outstanding communication skills
  • You have a high-level of analytical expertise and are highly focused on both quality and results, which is complemented by excellent accounting knowledge according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the German Commercial Code (HGB)
  • Experience with SAP consolidation, ERP, and Disclosure Management systems is beneficial
  • Professional working proficiency in German and English
