The management trainee program

At the heart of the program is your target function, where you will quickly assume responsibility within the KION Group. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the Group’s many different activities. You will also quickly get to know all the important interfaces within the KION Group that ensure cross-functional collaboration based on partnership and trust.

Over the program’s 18 months, you will get to know several of the company’s locations. You will spend five months at one of our international locations; after all, what would a global management trainee program be without the opportunity to broaden your horizons?

From the outset, you will have the opportunity to play an important role within the KION Group and be a member of an effective and friendly team. Base camp 1 Welcome to the management trainee program. You will get to know us and the other trainees, whom you will be working with to complete various training modules. Trainee (m/f) Controlling

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE, CONTROLLING & FINANCE

You have successfully completed your master’s degree and now you can hardly wait to really get going – preferably in an international environment. On our management trainee program, you will quickly assume responsibility for your tasks in sales controlling and finance. From the outset, you will feel like an important part of the KION Group and a member of an effective and friendly team.

What we offer

  • You will quickly get to know all the important interfaces that ensure cross-functional collaboration based on partnership and trust.

Tasks
  • Working in sales controlling and finance, you will be a crucial interface between our national and international sales regions and the controlling and finance department at STILL GmbH.
  • You will support the sales regions by analyzing key performance indicators in detail and use the results to develop action plans that will ensure objectives are achieved as well as derive process improvements.
  • In addition to the monthly performance analysis, you will support the annual planning and half-year forecasts processes for the sales and service entities.
  • You will maintain close contact with our sales and service entities on various controlling and finance matters.
  • You will report to the management team on individual projects and draw up concrete business plans, e.g. for capital expenditure projects.
Requirements
  • You have a master’s degree in business administration or a similar field with a focus on controlling or finance, and are looking to put your knowledge into practice.
  • You have business-level English so that you can communicate with your international partners in the different sales regions.
  • You have strong IT skills – you will be using various programs every day, in particular Excel and PowerPoint, and ideally will be familiar with SAP BI and SAP BW.
  • You are a team player with strong communication skills. You also have strong analytical skills and a level of personal initiative that enables you to inspire others.
  • You have previously undertaken internships or similar and therefore have some experience of working in an industrial environment, preferably in controlling and finance.

Trainee (m/f) Controlling

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE, FINANCE & CONTROLLING

You have successfully completed your master’s degree and now you can hardly wait to really get going – preferably in an international environment. On our management trainee program, you will quickly assume responsibility for your tasks in corporate finance and controlling. From the outset, you will feel like an important part of the KION Group and a member of an effective and friendly team.

  • You have a master’s degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a similar field with a focus on finance or controlling, and are looking to put your knowledge into practice.
  • You have business-level English so that you can communicate in international contexts.
  • You have strong IT skills – you will be using MS Office every day, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Your overarching task is to develop a method for the analysis and administration of the data that we receive from our fleet management systems, energy management system, AGV and performance systems.
  • The objective is to process this data in such a way that it can be presented clearly and comprehensibly to our customers.
  • You will then advise our customers on optimizing their material handling systems based on your professional reports.
Requirements
  • You have a master’s degree in engineering and are looking to put your knowledge into practice.
  • You have business-level Chinese and English so that you can communicate with customers and your international co-workers.
  • You are a team player with strong communication skills, enjoy analyzing data, look forward to exciting assignments abroad, and have a high level of personal initiative.
  • Ideally, you have initial practical experience in a technical role and have already gained experience abroad.

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE, PROCUREMENT

  • To provide you with a comprehensive overview of procurement management you will join selected key departments such as commodity management and strategic sourcing.
  • In commodity management, you will help to put the procurement strategy for a commodity group into operation. You will perform market analysis, prepare RFQs, evaluate quotes, and learn to set up and execute various price and contract negotiations.
  • You will support global functional initiatives, such as best-cost country sourcing and procurement excellence programs to ensure certainty of supply at the best terms
  • Working closely with key stakeholders in development, quality and logistics you will contribute to cross-functional project teams by completing sourcing-related project milestones.
Requirements
  • You have a master’s degree in business administration or engineering with a focus on procurement or materials management, and are looking to put your knowledge into practice.
  • You have business-level English so that you can communicate with stakeholders and the global procurement team.
  • You have strong IT skills – you will be using various programs every day, in particular MS Office, and ideally will be familiar with SAP.

Trainee (m/f) Intralogistics

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE, INTRALOGISTICS AND AUTOMATION

The creation of intralogistics solutions, some incorporating innovative autonomous systems, will become your specialism, which will be complemented by a wide range of tasks in other areas. Tasks
  • You will support the concept development and planning of customer projects and remain closely involved in their delivery. Your support will include cost calculations, presentations, and the preparation of quotations.
  • After analyzing the situation on site, you will advise the customer and plan the optimization of their intralogistics.
  • You will work closely with internal and external interfaces in order to implement projects successfully.
  • Planning the budget and ensuring that it is adhered to is also part of your remit.
  • Once the projects have been delivered, you will provide sales training and support for the network partners, including our dealers.
Requirements
  • You have a master‘s degree in a logistics, technical or business field and are looking to put your knowledge into practice.
  • You have business-level English and, ideally, French so that you can communicate with your international customers.
  • You are looking forward to exciting business trips within Europe, but also to the Middle East.
  • You have a structured approach to work and you are highly customer-oriented and assertive. You are also a team player with strong communication skills.
  • You want to play a part in developing the future of logistics. Ideally, you will have initial practical experience in the logistics sector and knowledge of processes and project management.
