Egemin Automation is a leading logistics automation specialist with a particular strength in AGVs. The Linde and STILL brands serve the premium industrial truck segment and have leading positions in most of the important markets worldwide. Baoli focuses on industrial trucks in the economy segment. Among its regional industrial truck brands, Fenwick is the largest supplier of material handling products in France, OM STILL is a market leader in Italy, and Voltas is a leading provider of industrial trucks in India.
With a global installed base of more than 1.2 million industrial trucks and over 6,000 installed systems, KION Group’s customer base includes companies in all industries and of all sizes on six continents. The company’s 30,000 dedicated and highly skilled employees generated more than €6.7 billion in pro-forma revenue for the calendar year 2015.
KION: The Name
… and what it means
The word "Kion" is taken from the language of the Massai. In the tongue of the East African warriors and nomads, "Kion(gozi)" means "Take the leadership".
KION in Chinese
In Chinese, KION means “Proud of the victory”.
This expresses a core principle of the KION Group: In many countries, as in all of Europe, KION is the number one - the KION Group sets its strategy according to the values of leadership, innovation and performance in order to further develop its technological and market leadership.

KION Group's History
The purchase of Dematic, a leading specialist for automation and supply chain optimisation, makes the KION Group one of the world's leading providers of supply chain solutions with a unique and comprehensive portfolio of products: from forklift trucks to fully automated material handling solutions.
The state-of-the-art plant is located near the Czech town of Stříbro close to Plzeň. KION has equipped its new production facility with digitally connected systems to create a 'smart factory'. The processes are transparent and are managed, monitored and documented using IT systems.
Egemin Automation strengthens its warehouse systems expertise in North America with acquisition of Retrotech. Retrotech is an established US systems integrator for automated warehouse and distribution solutions.
Egemin Automation is integrated in the KION Group as an independent company and is responsible for system solutions and automation.
Linde Material Handling North America operates under the name 'KION North America' since January 2015. KION North America wants to gain a much stronger foothold in the United States.
KION Group joined Deutsche Börse's MDAX on 22 September 2014.
Voltas Material Handling was repositioned to KION India.
KION GROUP AG is listed at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on 28 June.
KION South America produces for the Brazilian and South American market since November 2012 at its plant in Indaiatuba, Brazil.
Weichai Power joined as an anchor investor with a 25% stake via capital increase.
