The modern production site with digitally networked systems in Stříbro near Plzeň in the Czech Republic comprises three halls. Cabs, rolling chassis and masts are assembled in two halls and end-of-line tests and validation are carried out for reach trucks and heavy-duty trucks of the KION truck brands. In addition, mast and chassis production takes place there. In 2022, the processes were expanded to include rolling chassis production and fork carriage production.
In the third hall, Stribro manufactures conveyor belts, bag sorters and multishuttle systems for the KION subsidiary Dematic for the European market. A fourth production hall is to follow in 2023.
The site is also home to a Center of Competence (CoC) for logistics, industrial engineering and sales.
KION in the Czech Republic
The KION Group operates a total of three sites in the Czech Republic. In addition to the plant in Stříbro for the production of components for forklift trucks and warehouse technology as well as for automation technology, KION manufactures electric and hydrostatic drive axles as well as steering axles for the KION Group brands at the Linde Pohony (LiPo) component plant in Český Krumlov. The KION Group is also involved in a joint venture with the JULI electric motor plant near Brno.
