J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge 2019 with #teamkion

Roughly 300 KION Group employees came together to participate in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge on June 12, marking the 11th year we have been part of the world’s largest event of its kind. Nearly 63,000 individuals from more than 2,200 companies ran or walked through the streets of Frankfurt.

KION Group employees travelled from all over Germany to be part of #teamkion. Despite the challenge that gives the race its name, the event is mainly about corporate teamwork, camaraderie and community. “The high number of KION participants demonstrates the exceptional motivation and great team spirit we have at our company – attributes which also guide us in our daily work,” noted Gordon Riske, Chief Executive Officer of KION GROUP AG.

Running for a good cause

The race not only provides a challenge to work together as a team, but it also gives back to the community with a portion of the entry fees donated to projects run by the German Sports Aid Foundation and the German Youth Paralympic Association. J.P. Morgan then makes a matching contribution. Last year, over EUR 1.7 million were raised to help fund athletic projects for young people with disabilities across Germany.

Our runners were full of spirit as they lined up for the 7 pm start on Wednesday evening to run through downtown Frankfurt, tackling the 5.6 km course as a mega-team with a sense of fun. Following the challenge, the team got together afterwards to celebrate their shared success.
