Indonesia’s economy has expanded by more than five percent annually for five consecutive years. With over 280 million inhabitants, it is the world’s fourth most populous country – and a rapidly growing logistics market. Since 2022, annual demand for material handling equipment has exceeded 10,000 units.

Local Presence

In February, KION announced the establishment of its new entity in Jakarta. Chingpong Quek, KION Group Board Member, Chief Technology Officer, and President of KION ITS APAC, attended the opening ceremony.

“Indonesia presents significant opportunities for growth. This expansion enables us to bring our full portfolio of innovative solutions closer to local customers – from industry-leading electric forklifts to advanced warehouse automation systems,” Quek said.

Dealer Network Expansion

As part of the ceremony, KION honored a long-standing dealer of its brand Linde Material Handling for three decades of collaboration in Indonesia and more than 4,000 units delivered in the market. The company also announced the appointment of several new dealers to extend its coverage across different market segments in Indonesia.

Innovation Showcase

Through interactive product workshops and live demonstrations, visitors to the opening ceremony were introduced to KION’s latest technological developments. The presentations covered a range of innovations, including safety systems and fleet management solutions, highlighting the Group’s capabilities in the Indonesian market.

“The new entity reflects our long-term commitment to the Indonesian market and our confidence in Southeast Asia’s growth potential.”
